“I feel far more positive than I was when I first walked in to see Jane”
I can’t speak highly enough of JW Counselling and Jane Watson. Two years ago, I came to see Jane after the breakdown of a longstanding but sadly, highly manipulative friendship – one that spanned 30 plus years and
had just ended very badly.
Jane was very kind, compassionate and understanding. She instantly put me at ease and this encouraged me to open up about what had happened over a number of years. As we delved into my background, it became apparent that I had developed a series of negative thought patterns over the decades that had actually attracted numerous manipulative and narcissistic people into my own life.
Always aiming to be the people pleaser and not wanting to rock anyone’s boat, I discovered that my subsequent lack of boundaries with people was the key issue in leaving me wide open to such an onslaught. Our sessions focused on me examining my own past behaviours and how just setting simple boundaries with people can lead to much more mutually respectful relationships…We discussed practical strategies I could apply……
Sometimes the situation is unable to be reconciled and we must then choose to walk away.
In my case, the emotional burdens have lightened and this has opened me up to new possibilities and renewed optimism for the future. I feel far more positive than I was when I first walked into see Jane.
We are all works in progress in our life and we all continue to learn and grow.
Thanks so much, Jane and JW Counselling, for your continued coaching, shared experience and guidance. I would happily recommend Jane without hesitation.
“You have been trying to find normal in abnormal all of your life!”
With Jane’s expertise, support, validation and empathy I felt psychologically safe to unlock the door to unravel the trauma of narcissistic abuse from my mother.
I am 58 years old and Jane said to me, “You have been trying to find normal in abnormal all of your life!” This was a life changing moment for me as I was no longer the problem.
I know that I would not have had the courage to feel the pain and move towards the place of healing without her.
I highly recommend Jane as a Psychotherapist.
"She is an outstanding talent"
It is with great pleasure and confidence that I recommend Jane as a Psychotherapist.
I am a professional person who was involved with Life Line for over 16 years. During this time I was a counsellor and served as an Executive. With the Director we were responsible for the final acceptance of candidates to become Life Line counsellors after they had undergone a years training.
With this background I do believe that I understand what qualities are required to make an excellent counsellor.
With Jane’s empathy, compassion, insightfulness, understanding and her ability to help one explore the many alternatives and their possible outcomes, she is an outstanding talent!
I cannot recommend Jane highly enough. My wish for anyone reading this, is for them to also benefit from the wonderful talents that Jane has as a special person and a counsellor.
"Jane gave me the skills and strategies to heal, so I began believing in myself"
Jane is a wonderful listener and she helped me to identify key factors about myself that I needed to honour rather than concede to suit my partner.
I lived on eggshells trying to keep him in a good mood. Over years I had steadily compromised my values to suit my partner because peace is what I craved. I hadn’t the courage to express my real feelings because I thought he would leave me. I became enmeshed in his life so much that I didn’t dare think about myself and became convinced he would leave, and I’d be alone.
Jane gave me the skills and strategies to heal, so I began believing in myself. After counselling with Jane I developed a new confidence to identify and avoid controlling people. I proudly continue this today.
"Jane has been able to move mountains"
Jane has been able to move mountains in her work with me….she really has helped me shift my perspective from feeling like a victim to an empowered person with the right to choose who and what I allow into my life now.
To me finding an effective therapist is like choosing a suitable relationship or business partner – and I strongly believe Jane relates well with many people, due to her empathetic, non-judgemental, honest and supportive nature.
I would highly recommend sessions with Jane to anyone working in a caring capacity eg therapists, full time carers etc, to give yourselves some dedicated and well deserved self-care time.

"We are survivors once we realise we were victims"
I know exactly where to start and it will end the same way, Jane Watson thank you.
Thank you for helping me throughout the crazy, well that’s basically how I was made to feel talking to anybody about what I didn’t know then but do now, narcissistic abuse.
It was crazy how alone I felt until I met you….
For people who read this I had a perfect life, little did I know I was under an illusion, or you could say control from my wife of 12 years. I had my 2 children, a family pet, photo albums and hard drives of my children all ‘gone’ in one day as I arrived home from work, ‘fifo shiftworker’.
It has been over 12 months since I have seen my children, my beloved children.
So the months that followed the disappearance of my family I became sleep deprived and devastated. Back then I was still the unknown victim of a narc. I was texting and pleading with her to let me see my children.
I was incarcerated for 3 months because I had texted too much. In this time my family ‘clicked’ to what was going on and knew I was in need of help, and this is where Jane has been remarkable.
For the first time I did not sound crazy. It was real, it was happening to me. I was a victim of a narcissist. Jane has worked with me to keep me grounded, to keep me moving forward in bite size pieces.
Jane is not an ear, Jane is understanding of the most complex of issues like mine. I’m only 33 and I’ve had not physical but the mental fight of my life.
I feel so lucky to have had Jane back then and now going forward as I move towards family court. I thank my lucky stars every day to have my guardian Jane help me through this insane act that was meant to have played out with me not sitting here writing this. We are survivors once we realise we were victims.
The healing begins if we catch people before it’s too late.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart Jane Watson.
"In just 6 short weeks of intensive phone counselling Jane completely turned my life around"
After enduring years of abuse from multiple narcissistic partners Jane helped me better understand the profile of a narcissist. This assisted me in coming to terms with the abuse I had endured and helped me answer the questions of ‘why’ they behaved the way they did and ‘why’ they do the things they do.
Additionally Jane helped me go back and look into my present to identify my own weaknesses and vulnerabilities which contributed to my being a target for narcissists.
With this foundation built she then started to help me rebuild and rediscover who I am, what I want and what I don’t want. Jane helped me set boundaries, have difficult conversations and gave me a toolbox to take with me to spot the signs and stop the cycle of narcissistic abuse from repeating again.
Words cannot express my incredible gratitude for Jane. I am now so thankful to have been ‘discarded’ by my narcissist. I am the happiest I have ever been. The future is so bright and promises, with Jane’s help, to be free of any further narcissistic abuse.
"Your truth, experience and advice was vital"
Thank you very much Jane for helping me though one of the most difficult times in my life.
Your truth, experience and advice was vital to help me understand and leave a very abusive relationship with a covert narcissist that was destroying my health and life.
It helped me cut off a very dangerous and painful soul tie and to begin to heal and start a new life over again.
There is no question you came into my life at the right time with some of the right answers and realities I needed to hear, to not look back and only move forward. I thank God for you, your love and genuine care to see people get better and start a new better and wiser narcissist free life in the future.
"She reminded me how important self love and value were"
Jane has shown sensitivity and empathy in helping me deal with a difficult relationship and family issues.
She was able to pinpoint quickly what the right directions were despite my resistance, and also asked deep questions that I never asked myself.
She reminded me how important self love and value were.
"An acute understanding of the human condition"
I would highly recommend Jane Watson as a Psychotherapist. I have found her to be patient, warm, sensitive, perceptive, astute, and to have an acute understanding of the ‘human condition’.
"Calm assistance and advice"
Jane Watson is very professional and inviting into a warm atmosphere. Her kind and friendly approach helped me actively apply the advice given. Jane listened and was caring and interested in helping. I wish to thank Jane for all her calm assistance and advice in moving forward. Would recommend Jane for anyone as she has helped me greatly.
